Who We Are
The name Seventh-day Adventist identifies the distinctive belief that
we hold, that the seventh day (Saturday) is the true day of worship,
instituted at Creation as a day of rest and remembrance that God gave to
His people when the work of creating this world was completed. We
acknowledge that "All things were made by Him; and without Him was
not anything made that was made." John 1: 3. The Creation story
is the only true account of the origin of our world.
We believe in the Triune Godhead, of the Father, Jesus Christ the Son
and the Holy Spirit, three co-existent persons united as One.
"The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us." John 1:14.
This clearly establishes for us the sovereignty and infallibility of the
Bible, God's Word. We accept the Bible as our standard of character and it
is the revelation of Jesus Christ and God's will, the source of all
doctrine and a trustworthy record of the history of God's dealings with
mankind.
We are Adventists because we hold precious the blessed hope of our Lord's
return and believe that the Second Advent or Coming of Jesus will bring
with it the establishment of His kingdom that shall never end, where peace
and happiness will be Eternal and there will be no more sorrow, pain or
death.
